CTA Teachers in the news: 2010-2011

From the 2010-2011 school year:

  • Last year, Copley-Fairlawn City Schools was chosen to pilot a new curriculum for Camp Invention.  Consequently, our teachers had the privilege to be video taped for national training videos (click to download and play on your computer), which will be shown across the nation as people plan their camp and set-up this year.  You will see many Copley parents and students; as well as, Rebecca Wade (Fort Island teacher), Kathy Welsh (Fort Island teacher),  Kristina Huffman (Copley Intervention teacher), and Noreen Bartlett (former Copley graduate).  Fort Island was used as the location for some of the video footage.
  • Congratulations to Ruth Meklus for being named to the WKDD 2009 All-County Teaching Team for Summit County! (Read the Akron Beacon Journal Story)
  • In the December 3rd, 2009 West Side Leader, Copley-Fairlawn Middle School was represented by teachers Pam Angheld, Windy Lewis, Barb Lang, Karen Hanna and retired teachers Debbi Redding, Angie Matesevac and Mary Beth Palmer at the Visiting Nurse Society Awards Dinner for the “Heroes for Hospice” awards. CFMS was honored with the Charles and Margaret Schreiner Hospice Compassion Award.
